Ventilation
manufacturer sponsors V-24 Offshore Powerboat Championship 2003
Customers in the heating and ventilation
industry have come to associate the company Intervent Ventilation
Systems with fully recyclable and energy-efficient roof ventilation
products; Until now that is, as they enter the high speed, high-octane
world of V-24 Powerboat racing as sponsor of the V7 Racing Team.
The Sussex-based manufacturer is committed
to the ‘one design’ series that has races scheduled
around Britain, Europe and the US this year. Tom Powell, Director
of Intervent and driver of the V7 race boat, states that; “The
identical boats are all fitted with the same 5.7litre Volvo Penta
engine to produce very close and exciting racing. Speeds of up to
85mph are possible, which doesn’t sound that fast until you
consider that the rule of thumb is to multiply speed on water by
three to give the equivalent feeling of speed on land! There is
a slight irony in the fact that Intervent has built it’s reputation
on products that minimise energy use and materials that supercede
GRP by being recycable. Still we are confident that this is the
only Intervent badge that you will
see on anything made in GRP!”
