A Quiet Revolution in Electronic Fan Speed Control

Contractors in the ventilation industry will benefit from fewer fan noise problems on site thanks to a new range of silent, low-cost electronic fan speed controllers.

Called the Varispeed, the new range is totally free from the buzz and hum of other electronic speed controllers. The ground-breaking electronics and software design has eliminated the noisy toroidal ferrite core associated with the previous generation of products. Fans run much more quietly too without the electrical noise generated by phase angle distortion and wave chopping.

The controller software also features a soft-start routine to allow the fan speed to increase to the desired level without the usual stress on the fan and fuse blowing potential normally associated with highly inductive motor starting currents.

Other features of the Varispeed include an illuminated double pole on/off switch, internal fuse and robust enclosure suitable for industrial environments but attractive enough for commercial and office spaces. It is easy to wire for either two or three wire fan speed control.

The noise generated by fans unnecessarily running at full speed is one of the most common reasons for fitting fan speed control in most installations. When that speed control then becomes the source of new and even more obtrusive noises from both fan and controller the inevitable result is customer dissatisfaction and contractor call backs. Varispeed offers the solution to these problems without the usual additional costs of fitting autotransformers or even inverters.

The varispeed electronic speed controller provides infinitely variable fan speed control to a high specification at low cost. It's suitable for use with all single phase AC Intervent Ventilation Systems products rated at 6A or less full load current.
